Project Specification:

The modular pre-cast panels are to form an attractive and efficient freeway sound barrier for the Outer Ring Road Project. The scale model panels must include the following factors:

• panels will be modular and interlocking for either vertical or horizontal placement
• panels will have a suitable pattern which ‘flows’ from each panel in a continuous attractive design
• the flowing design will provide noise absorption
• panels will be constructed in pre-cast lightweight concrete
• panels will be coloured for maximum aesthetic appeal
   

General Information:

The proposal will include a scale model of at least four panels and a digital image showing the visual effect on a freeway section.

The 'flowing' design must be done carefully to ensure it flows on the panel in either the vertical or horizontal position. 

Consideration must be given to appropriate colours, with preference given for colours that blend in with the environment rather than creating a distraction for drivers.
